CALL FOR PAPERS

Information and Dynamic Mechanism Design, June 25–27, 2009
Hausdorff Research Institute for Mathematics
University of Bonn, Germany

Organized by:
Dirk Bergemann (Yale University)
Stephen Morris (Princeton University)
Ilya Segal (Stanford University)
Juuso Välimäki (Helsinki School of Economics)

In recent years, new approaches in mechanism design have been invigorating the field, including new questions and issues concerning the role of information and dynamic aspects. The conference "Information and Dynamic Mechanism Design" will bring together leading junior and senior researchers from the fields of economics, game theory and computer science to discuss recent insights, with a focus on the design of dynamic mechanisms and the role of information revelation in intertemporal environments. Among the topics to be covered (this list is suggestive and not exhaustive) are:

  • dynamic issues in mechanism/market design
  • information and information revelation over time
  • communication and information complexity
  • robustness and simplicity of mechanisms
  • mechanism design on the internet and in electronic markets

We encourage theoretical and applied, but also empirical contributions. The conference will consist of invited and submitted papers. The conference is part of the trimester program "Mechanism Design and Related Topics" at the Hausdorff Research Institute of Mathematics in Bonn, in the summer 2009; see http://www.him.uni-bonn.de/mechanism-design for a complete description of the activities.

We invite submissions for the conference through Conference Maker at https://editorialexpress.com/cgi-bin/conference/conference.cgi?action=login&db_name=IDMD2009. The deadline for submissions is February 15th, 2009 and we expect to announce the program by March 1st , 2009.

The Hausdorff Research Institute will cover reasonable travel and local accommodation costs for all conference speakers. The Hausdorff Research Institute also offers the possibility of funding a longer stay in Bonn during the trimester of activities.
