Economic Growth Center

SEMINARS/WORKSHOPS

Two weekly workshops offer forums in which graduate students and guest speakers present talks on topics that relate to the research interests of the Center. The Labor and Population Workshop is coordinated by Professors Patrick Kline and Melissa Tartari. The Development Workshop is currently run by Professors Mark Rosenzweig, Christopher Udry, Dean Karlan, and Mushfiq Mobarak.  A third seminar series, the Economic History Workshop, focuses on issues of long-run and historical economic growth and development. Professor Timothy Guinnane is the workshop coordinator.

The Economic Growth Center also sponsors two weekly lunches: the Development Lunch and the Labor-Public Finance Lunch. These lunches are designed to be an informal setting in which graduate students, faculty, and visitors can discuss research ideas that are still at a preliminary stage.
